December 13, 2006 – Rotary Notes

From the Top:

Please join us Thursday as we welcome the Dexter High School Choir to
our meeting to entertain us with Christmas carols. We may be asked to
join in on some songs so get your voice ready.

Some reminders for tomorrow; first, bring all the gifts for our adopted
families. Please review the instructions so they are prepared and
identified properly. If you can't get them to the meeting, please drop
them off at Peace Lutheran on Jackson Rd.

Second, we are ringing the bells for Salvation Army at Busch's this
Saturday. I will have the schedule for your final reminder tomorrow.

Last reminder; Bill Stockwell would like all donations to the Rotary
Foundation tomorrow from those who intend to give. Checks should be
made payable to the Dexter Rotary Club with a notation in the memo field
that it is for the Foundation.
.
Thanks,
--Fred

Last Week’s Program:

Koy did a very nice job of sharing some of the culture of her home country, Thailand. It is a very beautiful country with many colorful traditions. Buddhism is a very strong influence in the culture, government and educational system of Thailand. Thai cuisine is as colorful and spicy as the rest of the country!

All who attended this program were very impressed with Koy’s progress in language skills in just three short months. Many were secretly trying to imagine themselves giving a Rotary program in Thai.

Koy is now quite in demand at other clubs because of the Group Study Exchange (GSE) team going to Thailand this spring. Koy will be at Southfield on Thursday, December 21 and Troy on January 3. I’m sure she’d be happy to have our support if anyone can make it to those meetings.
