The District 6380 Rotary Foundation Gala is Thursday, November 9, 2006 at the Club Venetian in Madison Heights. Trustee Bob Scott of the International Foundation is the main speaker. Bob is one of only 15 trustees that manage the Rotary Foundation worldwide. Please consider attending. You can register at the District’s website, www.rotary6380.org. We will have our board meeting Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. at the UBT boardroom.

I want to thank Lori ahead of time for filling in me for me this week as she presides over the meeting.

Include Koy!: Anyone who has spent a little time with our Thai exchange student, Koy, knows she is a delightful young woman who is eager to experience American culture. Be sure to include her in your fall outings. She loves sports and would enjoy the opportunity to take in a Tigers game or visit the Big House for Michigan football. Other ideas: fall color tour, apple orchard, pumpkin picking, etc. Many things we take for granted would be very special for Koy.

One need that arises several times during the year is for drivers to drop off or pickup our exchange student from district gatherings, most of which are 1-2 hours away. Please let Lori know if you’d be willing to do that once or twice. It’s a big help to the host families and an excellent way to become acquainted with Koy.
