January 17, 2007 – Rotary Notes

From the Top:

Winter has arrived! If you are reading this, count yourself lucky since you probably have heat and power.

Thanks,

Announcements:

Last Week’s Program:

Lisa Himle, a second grade teacher at Cornerstone, shared with us her experience of becoming a children’s book author. It took over five years from realizing she had a good story until she saw her book on the store shelves. Mrs. Himle knows lots of parents, grandparents and school officials in Rotary!

This Week’s Program:

Jim Carty, of the Ann Arbor News, will share with us his take on University of Michigan football.

DHS Volunteers Needed:

Dexter High School is looking for help from the community to keep the library open after school a couple days a week. The commitment is to work about once a month from 2:30-4:30 on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon. Volunteers would supervise the library and, if so inclined, provide tutoring. See Larry to get a volunteer form.

Upcoming Programs:

Jan 18: Jim Carty "U of M Football Season"  Ann Arbor News
Invocation: Lori Sprague
Setup: Paul Cousins & Ulf Hillgren
